It had been shown that Bluetooth is not that suitable for a remote control after all, since there were significant problems under Linux with the connection establishment and the remote control did not work as expected. The change to infrared enables the use of inexpensive electronic components in connection with a long running time, since no communication has to be continuously maintained with the IR remote control. The remote control works exactly like the remote controls in the home entertainment area. The only difference is that the remote control is waterproof.
