Die Bussysteme verwenden je nach Hersteller eine unterschiedliche Hardwarebasis. Oft sind die Systeme untereinander nicht kompatibel und ben\u00f6tigen spezielle Umsetzer oder Gateways f\u00fcr einen Datenaustausch zwischen den Bussystemen. Viele Hersteller verwenden als Hardware-Layer f\u00fcr Ihre Bussysteme CAN, da die differenzielle Daten\u00fcbertragung sehr robust ist. Das bedeutet aber nicht, dass auf h\u00f6herer Protokollebene auch das CAN-Protokoll benutzt wird. Dazu werden Adapter oder Gateways ben\u00f6tigt. <strong>Adapter<\/strong> sind passiv und dienen zur Anpassung der Anschlusstechnik. Raymarine verfolgt mit SeaTalk NG einen propriet\u00e4ren Ansatz in der Anschlusstechnik, obwohl die Bus-Daten NMEA2000 Daten sind. Der gro\u00dfe Vorteil dieser Anschlusstechnik liegt in der eindeutigen Zuordnung unterschiedlicher Bussysteme durch farblich gekennzeichnete Stecker. Dadurch lassen sich Fehler bei der Installation vermeiden. Der Nachteil sind teure Installationstechnik und Inkompatibilit\u00e4ten zu NMEA2000, die durch spezielle Adapter behoben werden.<\/p>\n<p>Sollen Daten unterschiedlicher Protokolle ausgetauscht werden, so ist grunds\u00e4tzlich ein <strong>Gateway<\/strong> notwendig. Das Gateway in Form eines Mikrocontrollers \u00fcbersetzt dann die Protokolle. Oft ist es so, dass nicht alle Datens\u00e4tze eines Protokolls in das andere Protokoll \u00fcbersetzt werden k\u00f6nnen. Das liegt haupts\u00e4chlich daran, dass einige Protokolle nicht den kompletten Datensatz anderer Protokolle beinhalten. So hat z.B. NMEA0183 weniger Datens\u00e4tze als NMEA2000, das deutlich umfangreicher ist. Einige Gateways sind auf ganz bestimmte Anwendungssituationen spezialisiert und konvertieren nur eine Teilmenge der Datens\u00e4tze. Um b\u00f6se \u00dcberraschungen zu vermeiden, informieren Sie sich vor dem Kauf eines Gateways welche Datens\u00e4tze zwischen den Protokollen konvertiert werden k\u00f6nnen. Manchmal ist es notwendig zwei Gateways hintereinander zu benutzen, da einige Protokolle nicht direkt \u00fcbersetzt werden k\u00f6nnen.
